Day trip to the most closed down town ever. It is pretty nice having the beaches to yourself though. Just nothing open.

Took the ferry across in the morning and ferry back the next AM. Great little side trip, can't wait to get back to Greece.

We stopped here on the way from Montenegro to Sarande, a really old and really cool "City of 1000 Windows". This place is pretty special and certainly worth a visit.

Stayed in Shkoder/Shiroka twice.

We LOVED Kotor, this place is off the hook beautiful, we'd could spend huge amounts of time here. One of our favorite places so far, good times.

Shirokë, Albania

This village is about 6 miles from Shkoder and we stayed here twice. Everybody was really cool here, nothing but love for this place. Beauty is at a really high level.

Tiranë

We flew into Tirana and stayed in 2 different places. Went to museums, food, shopping, sightseeing, you know. Big city that looks like the government spent all the infrastructure money on themselves. Lots of smoking, black puffies, bowl cuts, Range Rovers, everybody looks alike. Signs of rampant money laundering everywhere. No thanks.

Stayed here only to use the airport, but it's got a lot to do, great views, way bigger than we really care for, but it has a lot to offer.
Marrakesh, Morocco

This was a crazy busy town with a cool central area, and lots of interesting things. We loved Morocco, even the extreme business of this city. We definitely want to spend a lot more time in Morocco.

This town on the edge of the Sahara desert was where we started out 2 night desert camp, camel ride, campout, sandboarding and nomad camp tour. We had way too much fun and are really glad we did this.

The oldest and biggest medina, plus the oldest university in the world. Awesome place

Took the ferry from Tarifa across the Straight of Gibraltar to Tangier to start the Morocco adventure.

This place doesn't even feel real. Rode ebikes out to a remote spot, and found a deserted beach, a million miles from anywhere, and you could see Spain, where you were going next.

Definitely one of our favorite places, of anywhere. The Algarve is pretty awesome in a lot of ways.

Nazare speaks for itself. A big wave mecca, this place is magical and should have stayed here for a few days. You can just feel it that serious shit goes down here, and the big contest was only a few weeks after we were there, you Know that going off.

Fun town, we stayed here twice - before and after the Finistere/Muxia jaunt. Got to see a Botafumeiro in the totally packed Cathedral. really cool.
Muxía ‐ Dec 16, 2025

Muxia was the real final destination from the beginning. We walked from Santiago to Fistere, then to Muxia. Muxía has had great symbolism and links to the Way throughout centuries. It was believed that the Sanctuary of Our Lady of A Barca was the place where the Virgin Mary arrived on a stone boat to encourage the Apostol James in his preaching in the north-east of the Peninsula.

Fisterra

This was considered "Land's End", 100k from Santiago, only took us 3 days. First day was a mutha of a storm, sideways rain blast for 8 hours, still were amazing days, finished with four 20 milers to get the job done.

This place was awesome, their great granpappies built a permanent swimming hole in the woods and we had to partake. The owner was so good with both the food and the lodging.

Still only stop #2 so everything and everybody is fresh. Getting some miles in and we feel them. Some Italian dude made a big pasta feast and then proceeded to make much drunk noise till the wee hours.

Roncesvalles is the first real destination and it's stop in pain. Most everybody stays in the big monastery - it houses 245 in mainly bunk beds and it's quite the operation. Alrighty then, It's On now!

The Virgin of Orisson, France ‐ Sep 3, 2025

First day, we left St Jean in the dark and immediately took a wrong turn and walked a mile in the wrong direction, but it was spectacular - the star show was spectacular and it was going to be a sunny day. We walked to Orisson into a fierce headwind, and it was full so we got a ride back to St. Jean, for the night, then got a ride back to Orisson to start the next day. This is pretty common to do since the first stage is so massive.

Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port

This is our start for the Camino de Santiago. We walked a tough first day up the Pyranees to Orisson, took a shuttle back to St. Jean, then shuttled back to Orisson the next day. This is pretty common as this 1st stage is huge and Orisson is always full.
